Stella's raw recipe No 1


Well Stella informs me that her favourite raw food is Strawberries,  but she has two favourite recipes. One is a fruit smoothie that her Anma Alison makes and the other is the fruit kebabs her mum makes.

Stella couldn't remember the whole recipe for the smoothie only that it had strawberries, "lots of strawberries dad!"  So we will instead write up the fruit kebab recipe.

     You will need
  • 1 x punnet strawberries
  • 1 x apple or pear
  • pineapple, either from a can in rings or from the fruit
  • 1 x bunch grapes (Stella likes purple grapes)
  • a handful of marsh mallows
  • 6 x bamboo kebab sticks
  1. Clean the fruit: cut the storks off the strawberries, cut the pineapple and the pear/apple into cubes. The grapes are already a great size the way they are but sometimes they are full of seeds, no seed grapes are a good option.  Stella says, "get help from an adult for cutting the fruit with a sharp knife!"
  2. Putting the fruit on the stick: take one of each piece of fruit and skewer onto a bamboo stick. After each set of fruit skewer one of the marshmallows. "If you have pink and white marshmallows don't forget to alternate colours. Or pink for girls and white for boys is also fun too... " recommends Stella.
  3. When all your fruit and sticks are full, eat and enjoy! "Always remember before you serve to cut the sharp pointy ends off your sticks so that littlie's don't get poked in the mouth or eye," says Stella.
      Stella has added some marshmallows to her recipe which is just fine cos look at all that delicious fruit.  Great advice and great recipe well done Stella!
